SUN SYNC

SunSync is Graduate Design- IV studio project set in the Los Angeles Flower District, shaped by the way flowers respond to sunlight, heat, and their surroundings. The idea was to translate this behavior into a sharp, angular building form that uses passive design strategies to reduce solar heat gain in a harsh urban climate. Through iterative sketches, massing studies, and solar-response analysis, the design explores how architecture can become more adaptive, climate-aware, and expressive without losing its conceptual clarity.

This collaborative seven-story design concept houses the flower market on the ground floor, while the second floor features a publicly accessible education center and lecture hall. Exterior balconies provide outdoor gathering spaces, with offices and laboratories occupying the upper levels.
